Well, that's that. The anime was cancelled too. I guess JNC won't exist able to get the rest of the series now? Unless Hobby Nippon brings them back if MINE fixes the problematic content?
What practice you guys remember about this? Was it the right thing to do because of the author'south racist comments or should an writer'southward work be separated from his personal life? Can they be separated?

I simply hope it doesn't harm JNC, with Amazon and stuff.

Y'all can't actually separate the monetary help and publicity you are giving the writer with your purchases. Separating the "art from the artist" is a whole other business concern though, and manifestly people are able to do that in circumstances.

JNC apparently licenses on a volume past volume basis, so as long every bit they get the novel out so Amazon doesn't go hinky, hopefully information technology'll be okay.

Yes, simply they probably didn't scour through the author's tweets. The biggest issue was the tweets, and certain passages in the novel take on a different significant in light of that context.
How JNC reply to this could be interesting - I imagine that JNC will be leaned on heavily to remove the books, and how they respond will take ramifications for future licensing deals.
I just wonder if this will impact anything in the time to come too licensing wise. Will JNC try to avert anything controversial? Annihilation unfinished? Anything super lengthy? IDK. I hope non besides much.
If HJ pull the carpet out from under JNC and Amazon bans them for pre-orders, that'd suck large fourth dimension. Not like JNC are in much position to complain when they were tied the largest source of material last I saw a list. "Pay me compo" "ok, no more licences" etc
I feel lamentable for JNC if they have to close this down, especially translator and editor right at present - all that effort and difficult work down the drain for book 3, and information technology was so shut to being released and being the side by side paycheck! I hateful timing couldn't have been much worse for JNC!
Bottom line. If you desire a copy of [New Life +], buy it and download information technology now, considering it might not be available tomorrow.

He is going to delete the apology and his whole Twitter post history (the whole account?) after, so best to read it now if you know Japanese.
It sounds similar mayhap, if you know Japanese and the writer cares to end it, you'll be able to read an edited version on Syosetu in the future. He wants to start talks with the publisher about editing content already in the books I guess.
